Rockton Strong is thrilled to announce our 2019 campaign – RECHARGE 2019! There will be several components, many of which we announce today.
With 2019 underway, it’s time to RECHARGE our strengths: Our faith in our community; knowing what we’re doing is right; and our unending battle to protect our health, property, and quality of life. Our legal fight is intensifying; with the next status hearing scheduled for Wednesday, April 10. We expect our case to head to trial in late summer. We have moved into the discovery phase, and with that, costs will increase. Remember, we’ve won some important fights so far, and indeed, the quarry is not currently in operation and an injunction remains. We’ve raised nearly $18,000 so far, and in 2019 we hope to take the fight home!
1. GO FUND ME – In an effort to simplify on-line donations, and to utilize a more popular donation platform, we are moving away from Donately, and are instead migrating to the most popular platform, Go Fund Me. Our supporters asked for this, and we listened. ACCESS GO FUND ME: http://bit.ly/2I1Zekz
2. DONATION MATCHING – We are asking our hundreds of supporters to match their 2018 donations with similar donations in 2019. Some of you donated large amounts of money in 2018, and we truly don’t expect that same level of incredible generosity. But, if you can, and you’re so inclined, please consider matching your 2018 donation. We’ve come so far with everyone’s incredible support, and now it’s time to get across the finish line.
3. FINANCIAL REPORTING – We will soon move to a more regular and in-depth financial reporting methodology. Virtually every dollar we take in is reserved for legal fees. We keep day-to-day operations at an absolute minimum, are volunteer driven, and we’re proud of our record. In the interest of transparency, we will regularly report those numbers.
4. FUND RAISING EVENTS – We have a new sign campaign we will announce in the coming days, and a MAJOR fundraiser for later this year. We’ve been working hard on ideas, building collaborations, and seeking corporate support. A lot of positive things have been happening, and we can’t wait to share them!
The support we’ve received for the ROCKTON STRONG cause has been incredible. It’s been humbling. We know it’s a just and important cause, and we’re reminded of that every time we receive a donation, a handshake from a supporter, and even words of encouragement from a note in the mail.
